Premiere of Close to You

Since the summer of 2020, I’ve been collaborating with composer Morten Riis and ensemble recherche on the project Close to You.

With inspiration in the sound phenomenon ASMR, the project investigates whether we can create sensual closeness. All in a time with social distancing.

Morten and I have had several sessions with the musicians. Them in Freiburg, us in Denmark. As a part of the sessions, Morten and I could get really close to the musicians and instruments with the help of extreme amplification and high quality streaming.

We found quite delicate and fragile sounds, which became the work Close to You.

The premiere will take place on Tuesday June 1st 2021 at 8pm on www.458.dk.
